The mobile hotspots for schools gives a student full access to the web via the Chrome browser and the ability to access multiple devices via its built-in Wi-Fi hot spot, however it doesn't come with any other applications. The disadvantage of this is that students who use the ethernet port on their laptop have limited access to the web. Another disadvantage is that many schools have already purchased this device for use in their computer labs.
The third generation of hot spots has arrived with the introduction of the HP pavilion hot spot. This device is a cross between the laptop and desktop smart screen hot spot. It comes with a USB and an ethernet port, plus a full-fledged keyboard with dedicated key actions. The screen is large and is approximately the same size as a laptop computer.

The latest model of the wireless hotspots allows the connection of up to five computers via its ethernet port. It can also be used as a wireless access point and acts as a secondary browser for web pages accessed through the device. What's different from the traditional hotspots is that these are far more intelligent. They filter the incoming data so that only the information relevant to the operating system is displayed, which includes web page titles and URL's. Also, the information received is encrypted before being displayed so that only authorized individuals can view it.

Other advantages of the hotspot are that it allows the access of multiple programs at one time, it uses data encryption technology, and it allows multiple connections to be made simultaneously. Some of the security features of the hotspot also include URL blocking, e-mail monitoring, FTP and WebDAV protection and online voice calling among others. The data encryption features to prevent the data being viewed by unauthorized users and prevent them from using it for illegal means. The Wi-Fi hot spot also comes with a parental control program that offers safety options for children. Click here to learn more about HotSpot.

However, some users of the HotSpot have criticized the lack of portability of the device. It can be used only for the specified area and cannot be moved to another place. Also, the device is relatively expensive as compared to other smartening devices available in the market. The price is around forty dollars and can be purchased directly from eBay.
Like all the latest gadgets the wifi hotspot comes with a user manual and a USB cable. It is portable and can be plugged into any wall socket. It's easy to install and its intelligent processing system makes it a great choice for the special education setting. Furthermore, it can manage most of the regular functions that a classroom would require including scheduling, monitoring attendance, managing work flow and automatically sending email reminders.
